HUNTER ALLEN REARDEN

Hunter Allen Rearden
Born: Wednesday, February 22nd at 1:23am
Details: 8 lbs 1 oz, 21 inches long (big football/basketball player hands and feet)

Kirsten and Baby are doing great!

VERY Short Version of the Story:
After ALL day of contractions, labor and all the other things that comes along with birth. The baby had moved all the way down and about 10pm Kirsten pushed for 2 more hours but Hunter just wouldn't come any more. At about 12:30 the Doctor said "it's either the vacuum, which may not work anyway or a C-Section." We opted for the for sure option of the C-Section (come to find out later, per the doctor, was the correct call) and at 1:23 am Hunter Allen Rearden was brought into this world.

So here's some pictures that were taken with my phone, Saturday when we get home i will post some more. It was an AMAZING process to see... Hunter is everything Kirsten and I hoped and prayer for. He truly is a MIRACLE and a blessing from God.

Don't Say I Didn't Warn You

Apparently, I know myself. In fact, as it turns out, I know myself fairly well. Well enough to predict my future behavior. This weekend I caught a severe verbal lashing from Steve Brewster for slipping on my duties as a newly formed "blogger." Unbeknownst to me 2 weeks is too long to go with out posting... to. (I needed to get another to, too, or 2 in there for good measure) So, here's my post for this week...

"I TOLD YOU SO!"

I knew it would happen thus the warning in my "Maiden Posty Thing." (ref: feb 1, 2006 post, Jrearden) I knew once I realized people weren't reading and/or paying attention to my blog the newness/fun would wear off and I wouldn't post/write... /. (see above "to" rule).

On a serious note... my dog died this weekend. Shaq was hit by a car and we had to put him down. Ok not really. Shaq's fine he wasn't even in harms way this weekend, that was a sick joke. But the truth of the "serious note" is that Kirsten is very likely to have Hunter this week. So, your prayers would be GREATLY appreciated. I will keep you all posted on the happenings at the hospital and hopefully get some pictures up to boot.

STEELERS WIN!

Well Sunday night the Rearden's celebrated the Steelers victory! Although I am Tampa Bay fan tried and true, my wife is a Steelers fan and I have always had a soft spot for the Black and Gold cause of my Grandpa's love for the Steelers. Here's a couple pictures of Kirsten, Me and Shaq celebrating the Steelers big win.

WARNING SPORTS RANT TO FOLLOW...
Let me just say all this "bad officiating cost the Seahawks the game" talk is just silly... plain silly. I will attempt the penalty on Hasslebeck for "blocking below the waste" was really bad and there were some questionable calls but not enought to cost the Seahawks the game... the best team won Sunday night. The Seahawks time management and play calling at the end of each half was AWFUL... AWFUL!!! And let's not talk about the Tight End, Stevens, who was talking junk all week and then come game time couldn't even catch a cold. Neither team was playing at it's highest level Sunday night but unlike the Seahawks the Steelers made the big plays when it mattered and that's why they won.
END OF SPORTS RANT...

Thanks for letting me get my rant on in my own little blog world. And yes believe it or not Kirsten is 9 months pregnant in the above picture... Shaq and I however are not.

Slow Down There Killer... Not So Fast!

We went to the Doctor's this morning and he said everything was right on track for the 22nd due date. So, I guess we were a little on edge and jumpy last week.

We're still supposedly 2 weeks out, but I guess my boy is coming whenever he wants to. I will keep everyone posted via this site as to when the boy is born.

Kirsten is doing great just ready for Hunter to get here.

Fourth Quarter with 2 Minutes to go...

"Guys remember what we've done in practice. We've run this play a thousand times, now we just have to execute in crunch time..."

Well I think we (Kirsten and I) are coming down to crunch time on the baby front. It's like I told brewster this morning "I know nothing about this stuff (stuff-being labor/birth/etc.) but I think it could be any day now"

Again, I am not for sure, but mama is getting more and more uncomfortable. Her back is hurting, which I have been told by several sources is a precursor to labor. So, we'll see what happens but I feel like it could be sooner than later. I may be wrong because I am no Doctor and I could have just felt like posting something new but I am not sure she'll make it to the 15th. DUN DUN DUN!!

"... now get out there. Johnny set your screen HARD! Bobby run tight off Johnny, knock down the jumper, and let's go home with a W"

The Maiden Posty Thing

HHHMMMM... so what's the deal with this "Blog/MySpace/Xanga" kick everyone is on? So basically I just write in this thing here and everyone reads it? Welp we'll see what happens.

Probably it will go something like this... I will figure this blog thing out and post a few entries at the beginning and then forget it's there, not post for a while, and realize that I don't miss posting that much and then just quit doing it. But I have been wrong once before and that may not happen. However, in the meantime, those fortunate enough to get this will receive great entertainment by my lack of writing skizill's and definite lack of grammatical skizill's... by-the-way someone please tell me this thing has spell check
